It is finished!
and looks so much better!
still belongs on the island of the misfit toys
but I made it
and I am proud
I also whipped up on of these
while Jon was on his way home from work
I am obsessed with crafting.
If anybody has plain onsies, bibs, burp cloths, etc around...
I will take them
and craft them.
The land of the misfit toys....
is possibly where my creations belong
but they were made with LOVE
and I haven't touched a sewing machine since 7th grade
and this was my VERY first time using a serger
(thanks for teaching me mom)
My daughter will love them
no matter how creepy Jon thinks they are
The inspiration
The product.
It is so soft
The inspiration
(I may buy the real thing one day)
a little "special"
It needed some fixing
It still needs the stitching on the edges to give it the final touch
but I love it!
and I am proud of myself for crafting it
Now I just need to buy a real one so I don't scare my daughter
as Jon and Justin say.
another year older
my mom had a birthday.
and she turned another year older
and increased her awesomeness by a few points.
she is amazing, sorry everybody
i have the best mom and my kids will have the greatest grandma.
she is loving
thoughtful
caring
a good listener
selfless
creative
a good painter
a seamstress
an artist
has the ability to create anything
a fantastic mom
the best grandma
able to envision everything
a designer
willing to do anything for her kids
(have you seen what she has done for my nursery?)
has awesome taste
a faithful member
a great example
a good cook
loyal
ambitious
always positive
sensitive
determined
humble
motivated
etc.
etc.
etc
the list goes on and on...
Happy (late) Birthday to the most wonderful woman I know!
hopefully my daughter will look up to me as much as I look up to you!
Craftastic Conference Weekend
The weekend started out with spray painting a few DI frames to create this...
There are still a few more pictures and things needed, but I love it.
My wonderful husband spend his Friday night measuring and hanging pictures for me. What a guy!
We also took advantage of the time we had and just hung out and went shopping.
Nothing exciting but nice to just be together.
We went to the utah game and drove up to the cabin.
I woke up WAY too early on Sunday morning so I decided to make these...
Jon reminds me constantly she will need something to wear during March madness and the college bowl games.
As long as they aren't boyish I will let it happen.
Looks like I am actually helping it along....I dyed these brown for a little surprise for Jon... more to come when they are finished!
E decided she wanted to "design" a flower for her hair.
She designed.
I created.
What a team we are.
I have been searching for a dress for Stacy's wedding in november...
I found this one...
cute but wrong color.
so i dyed it brown too.
I cut out the material and my mom sewed it together.
Jon put the grommets in and we now have blackout curtains for the nursery!
I also cut out and pinned together 2 special little things I CAN'T wait to show you!!
They just have to be put together.
Whew what a weekend!
I can't wait until Saturday. I have a few more projects I am excited to complete.
*Last night this little girl decided to throw a tantrum.
Jon had his hand on my stomach and was just in awe over how much she was kicking.
I am pretty sure it was all his fault.
She wasn't happy with a few "stinky" things her dad did while we were laying in bed.
What a fun experience for him.
