Combining Families...
The "GLAMOUROUS" version.
So being in a relationship means doing things you have NEVER done before.
Here is what my first OFFICIAL Hansen family adventure consisted of...
Waking up early on a saturday.
Driving to Lehi.
Being a little chilly.
Raking and pitch-forking grass.
Burying kids in the grass pile.
Four wheeling around.
Herding cows.
Sorting mama cows from baby cows.
Vaccinating the cows.
Branding cows.
Dehorning cows.
and...
CASTRATING them.
First you round them up and secure them so they can't kill you.
You have to "excite" the cow...
(don't worry my husband was there and approved)
Then you have to search around for the certain parts...
Do some cuts.
Search.
Pull.
(watch out they are slippery)
Throw to the dog.
Search again.
Pull.
Cut....
and BAM its now a girl... Just kidding.
This is REAL excitement on my face.
I was actually surprised at how fun this was. I only castrated one cow and vaccinated the rest. The Hansens have been doing this for 20 years, and it looks like they are not stopping now.
fun times... looking forward to next year!
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!

I want it back.

I want to relive this day all over again.

I don't really remember it all.

It went WAY too fast.

I loved every minute of what I remember.

I want to go back and enjoy it again.

Please somebody invent a time traveling device.

Thank you.

ok and i love this one...
not sure what is being said but I love my brothers, ha ha fun times.

A quick picture update....

5.11.10 and 10:20 am= 4At 10:20 today
Jon and I have EXACTLY 4 days left
Yes 4
I only have 1 1/2 days of work.
Maybe less.
I might need a sick day tomorrow
I am kind of freaking myself out a little.
LOTS to do.
and yes I did choose this picture on purpose....
GO LAKERS!

Clean. Remove. Laugh. Drive. Open.
My weekend was filled with...
Justin's Graduation.
Race for the Cure.
Cleaning the pool cover.
(ok watching my mom clean while I sprayed it off with the hose)Watching my brothers compete over who grinds stumps better.
Watching them guide the stump grinder through the backyard. Bridals.
Seeing Jon's face when he saw me in my dress.
My last single saturday.
Mother's Day.
Lots of advice at church (thanks Kim)
A sunny sunday.
Tree climbing.
Laughing.

My last single sunday.

wedding can opening.

This was really funny. The can was done back in 1999.

I have letters from:

my 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers.

Aunts who are currently.... not involved.

One person who I have no clue who it is.

my grandma and great grandma.

A few aunts who are still "involved"

and most importantly my mom's mom who passed away a few years ago.

It was really funny to open it and see what they had to say

what advice they shared

and some even gave little gifts!

Suggestion to all YW leaders: Do this, it A LOT of fun to open 11 years later.

Next weekend...

Wedding. Honeymoon. NO WORK! Family. Friends. Dancing. Laughing. Memories. Fun. New adventures.

Proper? Uncomfortable? Odd?
Why do some people have a line FAR beyond where the rest of the world's is?

This is where my story begins....

A public bathroom.
I was doing my thing when a lady and her friend walked in and were talking.
The lady came in the stall next to me and this is when she crossed the line..
Actually she was so far past the line...
I don't even think she knew what was going on.
I was sitting there.
She was having a conversation with her friend
(in the stall across from us)
All of a sudden I see her hand reaching down.
I thought... I wonder if she is tying her shoe

Nope still reaching.

Did she drop something on the floor?

Nope. Still reaching.

Wait, why is her hand still going?

She is already almost to the floor

Maybe she is picking up something imaginary.
Nope. Still reaching.
She isn't just going down...
she is going down and to the right...
What is she doing?

Oh thats right she was reaching under to touch my shoe

Yes she TOUCHED my shoe!!!

She told me she really like my shoes.

Proper time?

Lets not forget the fact that

SHE TOUCHED MY SHOE!

Her friend thought she was talking to her so she chimed in

The inappropriate shoe toucher told her about my shoes

We all got done at the same time.

While I was washing my hands she proceeded to point to show her friend.

AWKWARD?

YES!

INAPPROPRIATE?

YES!

CROSSING THE LINE?

You decide.

If you think this is a proper move for the bathroom

you need SERIOUS help.

By the way the THANK YOU cards for all 4 of my showers are done! My work shower was yesterday and I got them all done last night (with a little help from Jon, why don't they have to write Thank you's for Bachelor parties?)

Jon LOVES sports
(This is an understatement)...any sport, if it can be turned into a competition, he'll participate.
He plays in both a co-ed and a mens league for softball.
Last summer I was a fan, and the random girl that would fill in
This year I am the official back up
and the loyal fan (that what one of his teammates called me)
Last wendesday...it snowed.
Last night...it was windy and cold.
Both nights I got my Murray blanket and faithfully sat in the bleachers
His men's team is awesome.
Most of the time they are winning by 20 ish run so they turn it into a homerun derby.
2 softball games a week for the next 3 months....
YEAH!

Something kind of different...
Since I am sure you all are a little sick of the count down posts, here is something different. It still involves Jon and I so... This picture is kind of where Jon and I's relationship began. It is in Morallios (the village we volunteered in). I followed him around like a puppy dog (he says I didn't and that he tried to get my attention because he felt like I didn't notice him)
Then we fast forward to here
(5 ish days later- May 17, 2009 to be exact).
After going to Machu Picchu (where I thought our first kiss would be... long story) we ended up right here, had our first kiss (without all the people around) and 363 days later we're getting married.
(this picture is actually 10 mins after our first kiss, exact location)
I like the story of how we started.
I used to joke around with Rylee and Bridget and say it would be a cool story to tell kids and grandkids one day....
(because I didn't think we would get this far)
Well in MANY MANY years I will be able to tell them.
I also like to tell Jon since we started out on a humanitarian trip in a foreign country we HAVE to go back often!
(not top Peru, just anywhere and volunteer)
Crazy how life works isn't it.

not months
or weeks
days.
yep DAYS!

"Next weekend!"

Yep that's what I tell people when they ask when I am getting married.

Wow.
